I just talked with a guy who does reflashing on ecu's on Suzuki hayabusa's and he said that suzuki uses a serial data stream, is there any way these gauges can read this?

I'd have to know more about the protocol uses. Ask him if it's a CAN bus. The gauges will not read it as is, but it's possible that in the future we can program one to do this depening on the data format used. I'm really not familiar with motorcycle diagnostics so I can't say much more than that.

its not CAN to my knowledge, I am forwarding this link to the guru behind all of the work done so far, but maybe this post will leave you to some info worthwhile, we would be exstatic to have your gauge work with our ecu data stream..

this is was Petrik in Finald just emailed me

So here its what is possible:

1) TTL level serial 7800bps burst protocol, a package at every 200ms or so. Each byte contains a sensor value. This is how gauges are receiving the data.

2) K-line protocol with KWP package 0x21 supported. This means that OBD type 12V/0V serial interface, but OBD chip can not decode the content. Its a pagkage that has around 120 characters in package with most of those containing different sensor values. This package is returned as a request to KWP command 0x21 read local id.

rgds, petrik

Just want to say thanks Greg and Todd for looking into this, I think it would be great to use the Aeroforce gauge on the bikes and maybe it would open a new market for you Todd

Thanks for the info guys. This is something that we'd eventually like to pursue, but I just don't know when at this time.

In the meantime, the Analogic can do what you originally requested
greenbusu. Shoot me an email if you want to try one, we can work out some sort of refundable deal if for some reason it won't work as I described on the bike.
